We wont relent until remaining Chibok girls are released – Buhari

On Monday, the nation’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, made a pledge that his administration will not relent until the rest of the kidnapped Chibok Girls in the custody of Boko Haram since April 2014 are released unhurt.

The President reiterated his commitment towards the release of the girls in Katowice, Poland, at a bilateral meeting with Swiss President, Alain Berset, on the margins of the UN Climate Change Conference, COP24.

While meeting with the Swiss President, Buhari gave thanks to the Swiss Confederation for its renewed efforts and major role it played as intermediaries towards the secure the release of some Chibok girls.

The issue with the remaining kidnapped Chibok Girls and other persons in the custody of the terrorist remains a major priority for the Nigerian Government, he assured the Swiss President.

According to Muhammadu Buhari, “We will continue to try and release the remaining girls as safely as possible and we are very open to any kind of support from any quarters to make this happen.

“Our nation Nigerian is entirely committed to global efforts to mitigate and adapt to effects of climate change.”
