We Are Still Looking For Missing Troops – Nigerian Army.
The Nigerian Army has stated that there are on-going effort to find the troops that went missing after the Boko Haram fighters ambushed them in Borno State.
Major General Lucky Irabor, who is the Theatre Commander of the “Operation Lafiya Dole, made it known tojournalists in Maiduguri some search parties have been sent to the area and so far they have made contacts with a total number of six soldiers and four Civilian JTF Members.
Among those who are missing is the Commanding Officer of the operation, and also unaccounted number of the Civilian JTF members.
The Nigerian Army on Friday, stated that some of the men went missing after they were ambushed by Boko Haram Members in Borno State.
The statement given by the Army explained that the incident happened while the soldiers were coming back to their various defensive locations after they went out to clear the remaining of the Boko Haram insurgents at Guro Gongon village in the state.
It was also mentioned in the statement that the operation by the soldiers helped in destroying makeshift camps belonging to the terrorists and different weapons like an an anti-aircraft gun, an armored personnel carrier and motorcycles which are used by the militants were found.
