UTME: JAMB offers 200000 candidates first choice admissions

It has been stated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), that 200,000 candidates have been offered admission by the board, for 2018/2019 academic session.

Fabian Benjamin, who’s the Head, Media and Information of the JAMB, made this known in Lagos on Sunday, that the admission took effect after the board’s policy meeting in June in Gbogan, Osun State.

According to him, the exercise is done via the Central Admission Process (CAP), which is an automated process to eliminate admission fraud.

“So far, admission have been given to over 200,000 candidates for first choice.

“We are advising students to immediately check our site to be aware of their admission status, and also to accept the admission if they have been offered one, because failure to accept the admission on the site means that the candidate is no longer interested.

“The board will therefore have no choice but to mop them up and give it to other interested candidates.

“This should be done on or before 16th October as that is the time when all offers of admissions of first choice will be ended.

It would be recalled that more than 1.6million candidates wrote JAMB – organized 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
