Tanker Explosion Kills One, Injured 11.

The Ogun state command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, has made it known that one person had died in an accident on Saturday at Sagamu, the accident involves a tanker, a bus and a truck.

Adegoke Adetunji, who is the Ogun state FRSC Sector Commander, stated that not less than 11 people were injured in the accident, which was stated by an eyewitness that it happened in the midnight.

He made it known that it was fully loaded with petrol and had a mechanical fault and stopped on the main road, while it parked there, the bus and the truck ran straight to hit the tanker which resulted to an explosion.

The tanker caught fire immediately and burnt two other cars, while the dead and the injured were rushed to the hospital, he said.

“The number  plates of the vehicles can not be provided because, when we got to the scene of the incident, they were all burnt badly beyond any meaningful recognition,” he stated.

Mr. Adetunji, further stated that the accident might have been caused by over speeding on the two vehicles that rammed into the tanker.

He advised all motorist and road users to always be on high alert when driving so as to avoid speeding.
