Supreme council feeds 1,240 Kaduna Inmates during Sallah Celebration

The Kaduna State Chapter of the Supreme Council for Shari’a in Nigeria (SCSN) fed a total of 1, 240 inmates in Kaduna Prison as part of the Sallah celebration.

The council stated that the already made food was given to every inmate irrespective of his religion affiliation to make them feel love.

Shaikh Mohammed Tiaminu Suleiman, who’s the Council Chairman ‎in Kaduna, made it known that the Council in collaboration with Umar Bn Khatab foundation felt it was really important to remember those in prison in the spirit of Eid.

He urged the inmates to be good citizens when they have been released, stating that life in jail isn’t good at all and no one wishes to stay there.

This is not the first time we are catering for these inmates. Our aim is to make them feel the love of the season and to enjoy themselves and we don’t care about your religion both Muslims and Christians are given the food.

“We are going to keep on praying for them to leave their habits that brought them to jail aside.

He tasked the government to always pay a close attention to all inmates in different jail terms in the county because majority are youth.

He made it clear that prison congestion is something to worry about and the inmates deserved a much better treatment.
