The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III Okonkwo stated: “The NSCIA is strongly against these events because what they have done goes against the fundamental Islamic law which holds human life sacred and important and forbids its unlawful destruction except for a just course.”

Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, who is the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, has condemned the ungodly act in Southern Kaduna, which he has described as unjust, heinous and dastard acts of destruction of lives and properties.
A statement which was issued on Monday from Ustaz Christian Isa Okonkwo, who is the Director of Administration, NSCIA, quoted the Sultan giving an expression of sadness over the death of not less than 800 people while about 57 others have suffered life-threatening injuries.
He advised the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government and the Governor Nasir El-Rufai-led Kaduna State Government to quickly with all seriousness interfere in the situation to end the ongoing crisis. “The NSCIA would like to encourage the Federal and Kaduna State governments to go a step further by looking for lasting solutions to these recurrent acts of hatefulness and savagery in Southern Kaduna.
We are also asking the Federal government to objectively investigate the matter and those found guilty irrespective of the person’s tribe, creed and/or social status should be made to face the law,” he stated. He urged every citizen to uphold justice, teach, preach and live in absolute peace with one another, and not to be used by those persons who uses tribal, political or even religious disguise order to perpetrate evils.
