SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACK: Six Killed, One Arrested in Maiduguri Attack
A total of six persons have lost their lives in a suicide bomber attack on Friday morning, in an attempt to attack the Federal High Court located in Jidari Polo Area of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
Mr. Victor Isuku, who is the Police spokesman, stated that the bombers were two females and one male, who had the plan to kill the police and other security agents of the court.
Someone suspected to be a Boko Haram sect member and two other members of the vigilante group were also killed in the attack.
Mr Isuku made it known that before the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated, the suicide bombers were asked to stop for interrogation.
“In the process, one of the suicide bombers detonated the Improvised Explosive Device planted on her body, killing herself and one other male accomplice.”
One of the female survivor was taken into custody and later handed over to the military for investigation and necessary follow-up actions,” he explained.
After the incident, the police bomb disposal experts defused the IEDs that haven’t been detonated from the bodies of the deceased suicide bombers.
The police have made it clear that normal activities have been restored in the area.
