SHOCKING: 31 cows with sheeps missing in police custody in Kaduna

A Fulani family at Kaban village located at Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have made a call on the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai and the State Commissioner of Police Ahmad Abdurrahman, to help and recover their missing cows while in custody of the police.

The family said that a total of 31 cows and two sheep got missing a year ago after some policemen went to the village and went away with the animals.

Abubakar Ibrahim, who is a member of the family told our source that since the policemen led by a DCO stormed the small village and took the cows and sheep away, every efforts that has been put to recover the cows have failed.

He stated that so far the family has spent 1.750 million naira in an effort to recover those cows from the police.

“My brother in-law alongside my sibling both went after the cows to inquire reasons for the police action, were detained for two weeks. We had no choice but to bail them out with the sum of N580, 000.

“The police have been collecting money from us without given us a clue as to where the cows are. The police officer kept telling us that the cows have been taken all the way to Abuja.

“This is the reason why we are calling on the governor and the Commissioner of police to intervene by calling on the police officers to bring back our cows,” he stated.

The reason they gave for confiscating the cows, Abubakar explained that he was accused of having a gun which he denied.

“Never in my life have I ever owned a gun. I met with the police officer who told me that the investigation that they carried out indicates that I am innocent but yet demanded for the sum of N700, 000 as bribe from me before the cows will be released but I told him I don’t have that amount of money so he later collected N200, 000 naira yet, the cows are still not return,” he said.

He stated that all they are asking for is their cows because they all belong to their family and they are not going to let go no matter how long it will take them to get justice.

Alhaji Shehu Muhammad, who is the village Head of Kaban, made a confirmation about the the incident as he said the Habu’s family were peace-loving people in the community.

When the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Yakubu Sabo was contacted, he declined comments.
