Nigeria Requires Nuclear Technology for Constant Power Supply, Says Minister
The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu has made it clear that Nigeria requires nuclear technology to strengthen it’s power supply so as to meet the demands of Nigerians and the manufacturing industries.
Dr Onu made this known yesterday when Mr Yikaya Amano, who is the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), paid a working to the office of the Minister in Abuja.
“The population of our country is increasing everyday and we need another reliable source of energy from a good atomic source to strengthen our economy and energy needs”, the minister said.
The Minister demanded the assistance of IAEA in developing a good atomic energy for our country Nigeria to meet increase demands of energy.
Earlier, the visiting IAEA DG has made it clear that part of his visit to Nigeria was to look at how IAEA would assist with its atomic energy pursuit.
He promised the support of the agency to the take care of the peaceful atomic needs of Nigeria.
