NEMA Warns 8 LGAs in Kaduna of Flood Disaster.
NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency) South West Zone, has given out warnings that not less than 8 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State are most likely to be affected by flood this year.
Musa Ilalah, who is the Zonal Coordinator of the agency, sounded the warning on Tuesday during an interview with our source.
He further explained that the agencies have told all the communities who are living very close to river banks to vacate those areas before the coming of the flood.
He also advised the state government to quickly start the massive sensitization to people who are living in those communities who are affected, so as to help them see reasons why they should vacate the flood prone areas.
It has been see in so many cases back in the years, how flood in Kaduna state has rendered so many people homeless and helpless. It’s an incident that occurs almost every year.
He further made a disclosure that NEMA has taken all serious measures to lessen the gravity of any flood disaster that might come anytime, also warning residents to stop the illegal dumping of refuse inside gutters or building located along water ways.
