NDLEA seizes 1.9m tramadol tablets, arrest 94 suspects in Kaduna

About 1.950,775 million tablets of Tramadol from January to June 2019 has been seized by the National Drugs Laws Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kaduna State.

The agency also made it known that a total of 94 persons has been arrested for drug-related offences during the period under review.

Bala Musa Fagge, who’s the Kaduna State Commander NDLEA, stated this during a commemoration of 2019 International Day Against Illicit Drug Abuse and Trafficking held in the state

He stated that the state command has also destroyed 1.200 kg and half acre of canabis sativa farm land around Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.

The Commander further stated that they also seized 24.27 kg psychotropic substances and 211.27 kg litres of codeine in Kaduna state.

He explained that to keep on achieving the success recorded so far in reducing the rate of Tramadol and opiods smuggling into Kaduna and Nigeria, there is an important need to do more in inter-agency synergy among respective agencies.

He also stated that there is an urgent need to tackle all the factors that paints drug trafficking and abuses attractive.

He went on to commend the efforts of the Military, Nigerian Police, Civil Defense Corps, Road Safety, Nigerian Prisons, Nigeria Immigration and NAFDAC for their unending commitment in assisting them to carry out their mandate.
