KANO: PDP rejects rerun election result as INEC declares Ganduje winner

The Kano State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has rejected the results of Saturday’s supplementary election.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor Umar Ganduje, emerged winner of the controversial Kano State governorship election.

With a margin of less than 9,000 votes, Ganduje won the election after the collation of figures for the supplementary elections held on March 23rd, 2019.

Alhaji Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi, who is the acting chairman of the PDP, while speaking to newsmen after the collation stated that “the results were doctored as there was no election on Saturday.

“The results will not be endorsed by any of us.”

Honourable Ali Madakin Gini, a member representing Dala federal constituency, made an observation that the affected Gama Ward in Nasarawa local government witnessed violence.

He further stated that thugs denied the members of the PDP their right to vote.
