Kaduna Govt reacts to Rumour attack as resident flee for safety

On Sunday afternoon, many worshipers and passerby in Kaduna ran for safety as rumour went all over that there has been a reprisal attack in Sabo Tasha and Central market located at the heart of Kaduna.

But the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Media and Publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, has dispelled the rumour via his Facebook page, stating that: “contrary to rumors, Kaduna state is calm and there is no cause for alarm.”

It would be recalled that there was a similar rumour last week Friday, which caused breakdown of law and order in Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state where three people were killed and houses burnt to the ground.

When these rumours of reprisal attack was spread on Sunday, most businesses were halted with bus drivers, cyclists and roadside hawkers abandoned their properties and ran for dear life.

Most residents in Chikun local government area of the state, began to run immediately they heard the rumoured attack, got confused as to which direction to run.

While reacting to the rumour, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, wrote on Facebook that “Kaduna is calm and there is no cause for alarm or any need to worry at all.”
