Kaduna Crisis: Catholic Hospital demands N18m medical bills from El-Rufai

The Management of Catholic Hospital that is located in Kaduna has urged the government of Kaduna State, currently led by Nasir El-Rufai to help settle medical bills worth N18.2million for the treatment of those victims who were injured during the recent communal clashes in Kasuwan Magani, alongside those who were affected during the 2011 post-election crisis.

It would be recalled that so many persons were murdered and many others were injured in 2018 October communal crisis at Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State.

A Statement which was signed and issued by Mr. Sunday Ali, who is the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna-based hospital, quoted Rev. Sister Beatrice Danladi as saying, a total of N6.1million is currently been owed by the state government for the treatment of victims of Kasuwan Magani crisis.

“The current debt was added to the N12.1m the state government was owing the hospital for the treatment of all those victims of the 2011 post-election violence as well as victims of derailed train in Kakau, Kaduna.”

According to the Public Relations Officer, the N12.1million was also part of medical bills for those that were attacked at a police station in Kujama and some children electrocuted in Kakuri back in 2012.

“We are appealing to the state governor to please quickly release the money as several visits to the Ministry of Health has not given any positive result.” He added.
