KADUNA: Again on Monday, gunmen attack Kajuru communities as many feared dead

On Monday morning, some gunmen attacked two communities in Kajuru Local Government of Kaduna State.

Different persons made a confirmation of the attack to our source, even though the police and state government are yet to react.

The attacks were recorded in Ikirimi village, as well as Iri, Dogon Noma in Ungwar Gamo, both located in Kajuru Local Government Area. The casualties involved are yet to be ascertained.

The attack came barely a day after a similar attack was carried out in the same Local Government, Ungwar Barde, making it the second time the community will fall under such attack in recent times.

An indigene of Dogon Noma identified as Hon. Stingo narrated: β€œIt all began at about 7am this morning, all of a sudden villagers heard gunshots, when they came out of their houses to see what was wrong, and some were shot dead. The gunmen divided themselves into three batches, one batch was standing strategically in the bushes surrounding the village. Two groups went in. The first group was the one firing. When people began to scamper for their lives, the second group enters and began to set the house on fire. Then those who ran into the bushes, those that were standing there were waiting for them.

All the houses in the community were burnt down. At the moment, apart from the dead bodies that have been heaped, no one can tell you the exact number of casualties. There are many in the bushes around.”

A confirmation of the attack and killings was also made by a prominent persons in the community who does not want to be named due to security reasons.

When the Public Relations Officer of Kaduna Police Force, Yakubu Sabo, on Monday afternoon, he could not comment on the incident.
