The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kaduna State Chapter Secondary Schools Indoor Sports Competition which was earlier postponed, has been rescheduled to hold next week.
A statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the organising committee, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson and Abdulwaheed Adubi respectively, informed that events will now hold on Wednesday November 14 and Thursday 15 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
“All schools initially invited are advised to take advantage of this notice to fine tune preparations in this first of its kind outing,” it stated.
Kaduna SWAN assured that all trophies and medals for winners remain intact and would be presented on November 15 when the games close.
“The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung, Zonal Coordinator North West, Mr. Olusola Luke, Kaduna State Commissioner of Youth Sports and Culture, Honourable Daniel Danauta, Commandant NDA, GOC 1 Div, President Nigerian Volleyball Federation and Patron of Kaduna SWAN, Engineer Musa Nimrod and a host of others are expected to witness the event,” it informed.
The committee apologized to all stakeholders for the earlier postponement, stressing that it was for good.
Events to be featured are table tennis, volleyball, scrabble and chess.
