El-Rufai Praised for Compensating Families of Zaria Bomb Blast Victims
The National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, NUTGTWN, has praised Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State for paying the sum of N29.1 million as compensations to those families of workers who were murdered in a bomb blast in Zaria about nine months ago.
A total of 20 workers lost their lives in the incident that occured on the 7th of July at the Sabongari Local Government Secretariat premises located in Zaria. Most of those that were affected are mostly local council workers from Lere and Kauru councils, that have journeyed all the way to Zaria for the all important verification exercise for their employment status which was ordered by the Governor.
In a statement which was issued by Issa Aremu, who is the Union’s general secretary, praised the governor for listening to the union’s demand to adequately compensate the families of the 20 dead workers.
