The District Head of Daura, Musa Umar, has been kidnapped by four unknown gunmen.

Daura is the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari, which is located in Katsina State.

Our Source reported that the kidnappers came to Mr. Umar’s Daura residence at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and sporadically shot in the air, scaring all those around the area who were all scampering for safety.

Mr. Umar just came back from the mosque where he went for the evening prayer when the incident took place.

He was sitting down outside his house alongside some people when the armed men made their way in.

An eye witness stated that the kidnappers came in a Peugeot 406 saloon car.

After the gunmen had left, Abba Mato, who is the Daura council chairman, with hundreds of sympathisers came to Mr Umar’s residence, to discuss the bewildering incident.

Mr Umar’s kidnap took place just days after the chairman of a government agency, UBEC, and his daughter was kidnapped. Both of them were freed a day later.
