Buhari’s Prayer-Warrior abducted, N300m demanded for his release

The kidnappers of Ahmad Sulaiman, a famous Islamic scholar and prominent reciter of the Holy Quran, have asked for a ransom of N300 million before he can be released.

It was gathered by our source that the cleric who was abducted is a prayer-warrior and also a strong fanatic supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, had offered several prayers for the re-election bid of the president at some political rallies organised by the APC for the 2019 general elections.

The Islamic Scholar was kidnapped while he was going back to Kano where he base, after attending a religious function in Kebbi State.

However, in the audio tape that was obtained, those responsible for his kidnap are demanding for the sum of N300 million as ransom before letting him go.

The leader of the gang spoke in Hausa alongside a close associate of the kidnapped Quran reciter, stated that they were given orders by a strong politician to kidnap and assassinate Mr Sulaiman, who their sponsor allegedly claimed is a terrorist.

“After carrying a close examination and observation, the victim has no character like a terrorist. We found out that he is a holy and God-fearing Muslim. He has told us everything about himself,” the kidnapper told the reciter’s sympathizer, in the nine-minute telephone conversation.

When the kidnappers were asked what they needed for the immediate release of the Islamic teacher, the Hausa-speaking gang leader with Fulani accent, made it clear that they never intended to go ahead with the murderous assignment, in the first place.

“On the other hand, it will be so unfair for them to fritter the N300 million the politician gave them without carrying out his work,” he stated, adding that, “We are determined to give him back his money since we are not going  carryout what he has asked. We ask for forgiveness for wrongly accusing the Sheikh to be an insurgent, when in reality, he wasn’t.

“Those of you, his people and family members, should first of all come up with the N300 million, so the money can be returned to the politician. And also refund the money we used to carry him all the way to Kebbi state.

“But if you can’t come up with the money we have asked for, we will not think about it twice before killing the cleric, and also collect the extra cash we were promised if we eliminate him,” the kidnappers stated.
