APC picks Former MD Dangote Sugar Company, Sule as guber candidate in Nasarawa

Abdullahi Sule, who was a one time Managing Director of Dangote Sugar Company, has been chosen as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State.

Ismail Ahmed, who is the Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee, and was represented by the Secretary, Abduallhi Candido, made announcement of the result of the election on Monday in Lafia, the state capital.

It was stated that Mr Sule polled a total of 926 votes to defeat the current Deputy Governor of the state, Silas Agara, alongside nine other aspirants who participated in the exercise.

He stated that Aliyu Wadada, who is a former member representing Karu/Keffi/ Kokona federal constituency at the National Assembly, came second with a total of 517 votes, while the deputy governor emerged third with 356 votes.

The governor of the state, Umaru Al-Makura praised the peaceful conduct of the election, and described it as the hallmark of the party’s Change Mantra.

The state governor also gave thanks to all the aspirants and their supporters for their maturity, urging them to join hands together with the elected candidate of the party for a successful general election and also consolidate on the gains which has been recorded so far in the state.
