*National Council Of State agrees to N27,000 As New Minimum Wage
*Sends recommendation to NASS tomorrow
*FG would add extra N3000 tothe N2700.
Following months of back and forth dialogue with organized labour the Federal Government has finslly agreed to pay its workers N27,000 as the new minimum .This is N200 short of the N30,000 demanded by organized labour
The National Council of State whivh met on Tuesday 22, 2019 has approved N27,000 as the new minimu wage .It had earlier on submitted its recommendation to the President and after his nod was given , the Council came out with the N27,000
The council which is headed by Ms Ama People is expected to send the recommendation to the National Assembly on Wednesday for approval
While briefing pressmen ,Dr Chris Ngige the Minister of Labour and Employment, added that the Federal Government would add to the approved amount an extra N3,000 thereby taking it to N30,000 for its workers.
He said the states are at liberty to augment the new agreement as they see fit.
According to the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, the Federal Government is topping the approved amount by N3,000 to 30,000 for its workers.
He said the state governments are free to augment the new agreement as they see fit for workers in their States
